Brighton Motors Awarded Lotus Dealership

Lotus has roared back into Scottsdale. And it’s come home at Brighton Motorsports.

“We are honored to be asked to represent a brand with such a rich automotive history and racing heritage,” says Karen Mustoe, who owns the boutique automotive company, 15650 N. Northsight Blvd., with husband Shane. “We have an aggressive sales and service plan in place and are excited to get started.”

So is Lotus Cars USA Inc. “Since the termination of the Penske dealership, resulting from the sale of the Lotus/ Ferrari facility, we have been without a dealer in Scottsdale. Lotus Cars USA clearly lost sales opportunities in the area. And, just as importantly, our customers lost a service point,” says Arnold ‘Arnie’ Johnson, director of operations for the Lawrenceville, Georgia-based company.

Johnson and other members of the Lotus USA team joined 100-plus well-wishers at the annual holiday Brighton Open House, Dec. 10, celebrating the company’s new dealership.

Serving Valley car lovers for seven years, Brighton Motorsports is also a Morgan Three Wheeler Authorized Dealer and specializes in the sales and mechanical repair of select pre-1975 European and American collector cars. The shop also carries high-end automotive lines such as Griot’s Garage Care Products.

“The technical staff at Brighton Motorsports is experienced with a broad range of automobile brands,” Johnson says. “Given our expertise, coupled with obvious enthusiasm for Lotus products, we know that Brighton Motorsports will be among this great company’s most proficient servicing dealers.”

For the short term, several variants of the Evora are being shown. A number of enhancements will be introduced with the 2016 model. Brighton has some Evora S models already on the showroom.

“We are performing service and warranty repair to existing Lotus vehicles, and we will utilize our current staff for sales of the new cars such as the Evora,” Shane says.

The Brighton choice was a perfect match. “We have been successful with a number of major larger, high-volume dealerships. However, we prefer a dealership such as Brighton that are more enthused and focused on our products,” says Johnson, who joined Lotus East in Millerton, New York, in the early 1970s and has remained with the company for more than 40 years.

“Shane and Karen and the Brighton crew are enthusiasts who sell and service vehicles for automobile enthusiasts,” he adds. Many large volume dealerships merely sell transportation appliances.”
