Dr. Trent Smallwood – Glistening Dentistry
Valleywide and worldwide, clients smile about The Centre for Contemporary Dental Concepts.
Dr. Trent Smallwood’s spectacular 6,000-square-foot office in Tempe attracts people globally for his dental artistry: For some, even living thousands of miles away, nowhere in between is good enough. More than 40 percent of his clientele comes from outside of Tempe. A few minutes from U.S. 60 and the Loop 202, the state-of-the-art facility is at 420 W. Warner Road, Suite 101.
In addition to general dentistry, Dr. Smallwood and his staff of seven team members perform cosmetic dentistry, and, during his 15 years in practice, he has also established a following for his expertise in smile enhancement — without destroying teeth in the process.
Selected as one of the Top Docs in 2011 by Phoenix Magazine, he also specializes in noninvasive, painfree dentistry and innovative techniques for dentists to work more efficiently — all for the patient’s benefit.
He speaks internationally in a number of these areas as well and has been considered by his fellow professionals one of the top 100 most influential speakers in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
“I have patients come from all over the world for the smiles we create. Just last month we had a patient come from London for us to complete her smile,” the doctor says, noting that he has a full teaching facility in his building and offers seminars multiple times each year to educate area dentists about contemporary dentistry and techniques.
Dr. Smallwood loves Arizona. After leaving South Lake Tahoe, Calif., he grew up in the Midwest and attended Indiana University. He continued in its doctoral program and finished in 1996.
“I moved out here because of the weather, primarily,” he says. “I love snow but don’t care much to live in it. And humidity, ugh, don’t miss that at all.”
He does enjoy snowskiing, waterskiing, piloting aircraft and loves to travel. He especially enjoys spending time with his two 8-1/2 twin girls, Brielle and Berlin.
Why Dr. Smallwood and The Centre for Contemporary Dental Concepts? “Unquestionably, it’s our customer service and the fact that I educate other dentists all over the world — 8,000-plus to date,” Trent says. “I had a patient once say to me, ‘Why would I want the student when I can have the teacher?’”
