Hidden Meadow Ranch — Pinnacle Getaway
Hidden Meadow Ranch has you covered for winter — and year round.
The 150-acre luxury lodging and vacation home community in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in the White Mountains offers premier log cabin accommodations, gourmet dining and recreational activities such as snowshoeing, skiing, sledding, snowboarding, powder horseback riding, horse-drawn sleigh rides and back-country excursions on a 24-passenger SnowCat.
“On Christmas Eve, we even have Santa arriving by sleigh and a holiday skit by the staff starring our own mascots, miniature donkeys, Thistle and Iris,” says Jane Lenci, the resort’s general manager.
About 10 miles from Greer, Hidden Meadow Ranch includes 12 luxury log cabins, each with a wood-burning fireplace, the Ranch House for communal activities and the Ranch House Restaurant, headed by Executive Chef Kurt Jacobsen, who prepares breakfasts, lunches and dinners, featuring specialty dishes such as Seared Yellow Fin Tuna and Achiote-Marinated Elk Tenderloin.
A stress-busting getaway for couples or activity-filled vacation place for families, Hidden Meadow Ranch has been named “Most Excellent Ranch in the United States and Canada” by Condé Nast Johansens and has recently become an Orvis-endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge — enjoyed by only 50 other fly fishing lodges in the United States.
The Ranch is also an ideal destination for weddings, anniversaries, family reunions and corporate meetings in which groups can take over the entire lodge.
“Condé Nast Johansens resonates with the world’s most discriminating travelers,” says Casey Bolinger, co-owner of Hidden Meadow Ranch. “We are extremely excited about winning this award two years in a row and to be keeping company with the other exceptional award-winning destinations for 2011.”
She and husband, Tim, are the principals of Greenbrier Southwest Corporation, a Scottsdale-based commercial real estate development and hospitality company they founded in 1991. They helped develop Kierland in northeast Phoenix and The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain community near Tucson.
“Hidden Meadow Ranch is our heart-and-soul property,” Casey says. “It’s a beautiful mountain setting with wonderful accommodations and amenities, but it’s our amazing staff, with their warm smiles and can-do attitudes, who bring it to life with great service.”
This winter, Hidden Meadow will provide rental skis or snowboards for your stay as well as your lift ticket for nearby Sunrise Ski Resort and shuttle you to the slopes with the Ski Sub — the location’s winter-worthy Chevy Suburban.
“We’ll pick you up in the afternoon with a hot chocolate or coffee and heated seats. When you get back to HMR, you can have a long, hot bath in your custom soaking tub; sip one of our ‘Tummy Warmer’ special drinks in front of the crackling fireplace; and top it off with a four-course candlelit gourmet dinner,” Jane says.
For all seasons, the highest levels of service and comfort are standard. Three of the Ranch’s luxurious 900-square-foot cabins, Squash Blossom, Trail’s End and Blue Quill, are available to pets and have attached dog runs. With appropriate notice, even your horse is welcome.
Other activities and events include Winemaker Weekends, horseback riding, archery, canoeing, strolling through the meadows to watch for elk, deer, wild turkey and bald eagles or letting your dog take a swim at spring-fed trout ponds.
Hidden Meadow Ranch also offers a fractional-ownership program and a limited number of one-acre plus private lots deed-restricted to hand-hewn log construction.
“The Ranch is rough logs and fine linens, we like to say,” Tim explains. “It’s the perfect combination of excellent food and wine, luxury accommodations and a range of activities, from fly fishing to horseback riding to downhill skiing and snowboarding — all in a beautifully remote and peaceful setting.”
