Renovated Loews Hotel is Gateway to Hollywood

Following a $31 million renovation, the Loews Hollywood Hotel, 1755 N. Highland Ave., at the intersection with landmark Hollywood Boulevard, offers the red carpet to the city of glitz and glam.

Completed summer 2013 through spring 2014 by the Los Angeles office of Gensler, the update includes the 628 luxurious guest rooms, 113 of these spacious suites, as well as the lobby, the H2 Kitchen & Bar and the exhale spa’s new Core® Fusion studio. Owned and operated by New York City-based Loews Hotels & Resorts, the upscale hotel originally opened as Loews Hollywood June 16, 2012.

The renovation of the high-vibe hotel comes at the same time with the offering of new services, such as the recent partnership with FIAT, which offers two complimentary FIAT 500L vehicles for guests to rent during their visit. All of the attractions of the landmark Hollywood area, the Walk of Fame and surrounding Los Angeles are close by.

“Loews Hollywood is located in the heart of the city, with many walkable attractions near the hotel. But the partnership with FIAT offers our guests extremely convenient and comfortable access to an even wider array of activities across Los Angeles,” says Brian Johnson, managing director of the hotel. “With the FIAT vehicles, they can easily zip around town and explore sites that may have been overlooked without a car, like a visit to LACMA [Los Angeles County Museum of Art].”

“Over the past year, we have been elevating the guest experience, from the hotel’s top-to-bottom renovation to the Loews Loves Pets program, and our partnership with FIAT is the latest example,” he adds. “We want our guests to enjoy the comforts of home when they’re here, and feel like family. Driving yourself around town in the newest, coolest car adds to that experience.”

Located next to the Dolby Theatre, where the Academy Awards® are held, Loews Hollywood is also close to TCL Chinese Theatre, Pantages Theatre, the historic Hollywood Bowl and The Hollywood Museum, in the historic Max Factor Building, where Marilyn Monroe received her blonde locks and Lucille Ball her red hair.

In the guest rooms, custom-designed furniture, warm grey tones and textured fabrics such as the silk Shantung drapes are both glamorous and comfortable. Incorporating Midcentury modern touches, the rooms include Parsons-inspired desks, ’30s-style club chairs and burnt-orange Eames-style office chairs, Hollywood photography and colorful elements such as violet throw pillows.

Guests will also enjoy the new Keurig coffee makers, additional electrical outlets and USB ports in the desk and nightstand furniture, a 37-inch flat screen TV and free Wi-Fi.

The lobby lounge is also now more high tech for today’s traveler, with multiple outlets built under the bar and into the furniture. Leather bar and club chairs and a Swarovski chandelier provide elegant design elements.

The lobby also offers complimentary Wi-Fi. Here, white marble floors, a gray agate front desk and marbled-mirrored columns add to a sense of welcome and dramatic arrival.

H2 Kitchen & Bar, opened in February 2014, features hand-crafted cocktails such as the Blackberry Basil Mojito and an excellent wine list and innovative small plates for lunch and dinner from Executive Chef Mark Ching. These include his signature Egg2 dish as well as Bulgogi Joe’s Sliders and Apple Pie Taco. H2 is open Monday–Friday, 2 p.m.–1:30 a.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m.–1:30 a.m.

“H2 Kitchen & Bar is a key component to the experience at the newly renovated Loews Hollywood Hotel,” Johnson says. “We designed H2 Kitchen & Bar to be a sanctuary in the heart of Hollywood and a natural place to gather within the hotel no matter the reason or time of day.”

In addition, Preston’s serves California-inspired contemporary American cuisine for breakfast and lunch and offers views of surrounding Hollywood, and the lobby’s new breakfast option, H2Go, opens at 5 a.m. and serves Starbucks coffee, teas and breakfast pastries until 11 a.m.

The 7,000-square-foot exhale spa offers six private therapy rooms, couples’ treatment room with soaking tub, aromatherapy steam rooms, manicure/pedicure lounge, two co-ed Zen lounges and a retail boutique. Guests can enjoy a new studio with Core Fusion® and yoga classes and a new fitness center, both offering great Hollywood views.

For a once-in-a-lifetime setting for special events, the 2,025-square-foot Loews Hollywood helipad above the 20th floor is available for rooftop yoga, private dinners, champagne toasts, engagement photo sessions and those romantic proposals that will make your partner’s spirits fly.
